So, DC has the big DC Fandome event coming up in a couple of weeks, and now they're announcing guests...

https://twitter.com/TheCWSupergirl/status/1291766549758586891

This appears to be a CW-centric version of the longer announced guest list (which encompasses people from comics, films, games, etc.), but the only two names from Supergirl are David Harewood and Nicole Maines. I can understand Melissa not being able to participate, but Chyler? Jesse? The showrunners? Azie apparently said today that she wasn't even aware of the event. I'm stunned, tbh. Does anyone have any idea why the limited participation?

It still doesn't send a good message. First, it makes it seem like Supergirl, as the ONLY show not represented, is an afterthought. Secondly, it really craps on DC's message of equality.

"Look, we support our female actors and characters!"
Lead has a child.
"Well, this is the one show we WON'T promote at our giant online convention, advertised for months."

We can justify the reasoning all we want, but it really doesn't send a message of equality and inclusiveness. Quite the opposite.

I can't say I know the reasons behind their decision, but I doubt they are so punitive in nature.

My guess is they are still scrambling in the creative process and aren't ready to present anything, even the playful, teasing "non-answers" typically offered.

You can't have a Supergirl panel without Supergirl, so this did not surprise me.

Nicole and David are on the Truth, Justice DC panel, so Supergirl will be represented.

I wouldn't read any more into it.

Honestly,I wasn't expecting Melissa. She's either had her baby or near the end of her pregnancy at this point so I would of been shocked if she participated.I also heard that Chyler had internet issues as well which is why she wasn't involved with the recent Wizard World panel.

Just speculating here, but I noticed all the other Arrowverse shows(and others) have their leads taking part in these panels.Maybe they felt it wasn't worth doing a full Supergirl panel if they couldn't have the star participating.I don't agree with that but maybe that was their thinking.

I did see over at Coming Soon that there is a Supergirl related thing there.

What a joke. For all the promotion they did for DC Fandome under The Supergirl social media pages, there isn't even a panel. I get that Melissa is will likely be on leave. But damn. Between the layoffs, and the blatant false ass advertising for Supergirl's presence at DC Fandome, I've seriously got some hate for DC as a company, right now.

I have found out that David and Nicole will be on a panel called "Truth Justice and the DC Comics Way." Saw it while on Instagram.

The schedule is now available at schedule.dcfandome.com. There is NO Supergirl TV panel on the current schedule. :( I watched a video that said that apparently Chyler is living in a place with poor Internet, so that could explain her absence. ) But apparently Nicole and David are appearing on other panels instead.

My gut feeling is that, when they called for questions, they were flooded with SuperCorp responses. I also believe (with no evidence other than unrelated comments that DC is very protective of their hero characters) that Berlanti's license from DC for the Supergirl character precludes her ever going in that direction, but they don't dare or aren't allowed to come out and say that. So, the showrunners are nowhere to be found and there's no panel.

Another possibility is that they're trying to give Superman & Lois a clearer launch so SG is being less visible.

Many factors perhaps, and this may be the top reason...availability. Melissa not going is of course obvious. But the others, save David and Nicole, well somehow I think TPTB at DC put this together at the last moment to replace Comic-Con related activities cancelled due to the virus "pandemic."

Azie apparently said today that she wasn't even aware of the event.

Either she was busy with something else or lack of communication.
